Got told my bingeing habit was 'passive' and it hit different

My buddy said I was just staring at the screen not really watching, so I started taking notes on each episode like character arcs and plot holes. Now I catch so much more and actually remember what happened, has anyone else tried note-taking while bingeing?

Did your friend ever try taking notes themselves? My roommate started doing that while watching that big fantasy show and now she catches stuff I miss completely. It turned her whole viewing experience around.

Read somewhere that taking notes while watching is actually a form of active viewing, it forces your brain to process stuff differently... My buddy @eva_garcia56 said her roommate does that for the big fantasy show and picks up on all these little clues. I started doing the same with a mystery series and caught a killer's motive from a background detail in episode 2 that nobody talked about. The notes help you spot patterns across episodes too, like how a character's color scheme changes when they're lying. It's way better than just letting the story wash over you, you actually feel like you're part of the detective work.
