Acoustic version of a song ruined a whole episode for me last night

Does the style of the song really make that big of a difference? I used to think a stripped-down version could fix anything, but then an acoustic cover of a driving rock song totally killed the mood of a big chase scene for me. Now I see how easily it can pull you out of the moment if it doesn't match the scene's energy.

Yeah I used to be the same way, thought any song could work if you just stripped it down. But then I watched a movie where they played a slow piano version of a punk song during a fight scene and it just felt so wrong. Totally agree now, the style has to fit or it ruins everything.
