Heavy u-lock on my rack broke a weld, switched to a frame mount

Last Tuesday I hit a pothole on 5th Ave and my rear rack just gave up, the u-lock bouncing down the road behind me. I picked up a $28 frame mount bracket that bolts under the top tube, now the weight sits low and my bike handles way better. Anyone else had rack failures from lugging locks back there?
