Why does nobody talk about checking spoke tension by ear instead of with a tensiometer
Brought a wheel into the stand at my buddy's garage in Tucson two days ago and he just plucked the spokes with his fingernail, said the ping was off on three of them, and he was right. I've been using a tensiometer for 6 years and never thought to just listen first. Has anyone else picked up the ear method, or am I late to something obvious?
