That fancy torque wrench I mocked for a year finally saved a cracked frame
I always thought the digital torque wrenches were overkill for shop work, but after a Carbon frame came in from a local rider in Portland with a seized seatpost clamp, I finally used one on a routine stem swap. The readout showed I was 4 Nm off from what I felt was 'snug' by hand, and that difference was enough to explain the hairline crack at the head tube. Guess I owe the tool a beer, but now I'm wondering how many other frames I've quietly damaged with feel alone. Anyone else ditch the analog stuff for good after one close call?

Why trust your hands when they've been lying to you this whole time?
