Six months ago I switched from spray lube to drip wax on my chain. The difference is night and day.
I used to lube my bike chain every two weeks with a spray can. It got everywhere, made a mess on my rim, and I'd still get that grinding noise after a wet ride. A mechanic at REI in Portland told me to try a drip wax like Squirt or Smoove. At first I thought it was too much work cleaning the chain and applying it right. But after three months of just putting a few drops on each link and wiping off the extra, my drivetrain runs quieter and stays cleaner way longer. No more black gunk on my hands. Has anyone else made this switch and noticed a big difference in chain wear or shifting?

Three months in and I'm actually thinking of switching back to my old setup. The learning curve was way steeper than I expected and I'm still not getting the same speed I had with my 2018 model. Maybe it's just me but this upgrade has been more headache than help for daily tasks like sorting through invoices and checking schematics. I've had the new system freeze up twice already when I was running multiple browser tabs.
