Noticed a big shift in how shops handle wheel truing now versus ten years back

Back in 2014, almost every shop I worked at had a dedicated mechanic who only did wheel builds and truing. Now, it feels like that job gets handed to whoever is free, and the quality really varies. I think it's because shops are busier and can't afford a specialist for one task. But I've seen more wheels come back for re-adjustment within a month under this system. Has your shop kept a wheel specialist, or has the role changed there too?

Wheels come back for re-adjustment" is exactly what I've seen too.

So they just keep sending the same wheels back and forth? I saw one set go out three times last month, each time with a new "final" adjustment sticker. At this point the shipping box is more reliable than the part inside.
