Finally got that old Campy derailleur working today
Been sitting on a Super Record derailleur from 1984 for about 3 years now. Last week I finally sat down and rebuilt it with new bushings and a fresh jockey wheel from my parts bin. Feels good to see it shift smooth again on my old Colnago frame. Anyone else mess around with vintage gruppo stuff or am I just weird?

The Super Record was peak derailleur engineering for its time - that aluminum pivot design still holds up today. I rebuilt a 1979 Nuovo Record last winter and was surprised how good the shifting felt with fresh bearings. Once you dial in those old Campy parts they have a feel you just don't get from modern stuff.

My buddy rebuilt a Super Record back in 2018 and he was so proud of it, he took it on a group ride. It shifted fine until a hill, then the cable snapped halfway up. He walked the rest of the way, but hey, at least it looked good leaning against the fence.
