Overheard a stylist talking about pillowcase damage, now I check mine every month
I was waiting for my color to process last Tuesday and two ladies next to me were chatting about how cotton pillowcases cause split ends from friction. One of them said she switched to satin three years ago and her breakage dropped by half. That got me thinking about my own routine, so I checked my pillowcase and it was rough and pilled, definitely old. I picked up a cheap satin one at Target for about $12 and my hair has felt smoother in the mornings, less tangles too. I also started flipping my pillowcase sides every other night to spread out the wear. Has anyone else tried this and noticed a real difference, or is it mostly hype? I'm wondering if I should get a silk bonnet too for overnight protection.
