Gel nails vs. hard gel after my client's set lifted in 4 days, which side are you on?
Did a full set on a regular at my salon chair in Fresno last Tuesday and by Saturday two nails had lifted at the cuticle, so I soaked them off and redid the whole thing free of charge. One side says soft gel just can't hold up on clients who wash their hands all day, and the other side swears it's all about prep and proper dehydrating before you even open the bottle. I prepped like I always do, so now I'm second guessing whether I should switch her to hard gel or just change up my base coat. What do you all do when a set lifts that fast, eat the cost or charge for the fix?
Two lifts by Saturday after a Tuesday set would have me second guessing my prep too, so I feel you there. Eating the cost was the right call for a regular, but I'd look hard at her hand washing before blaming the product.
