Torn between a standing desk converter and a full frame, went with the converter

I spent two weeks going back and forth on whether to get a full standing desk or just a converter for my current setup. Ended up grabbing a Varidesk Pro Plus 36 for $250 used on Facebook Marketplace. Three months in, I can say it works fine for basic standing but wobbles like crazy when I'm typing fast. Anyone else regret not just buying the full desk from the start?

Funny you mention the wobble because that's actually the hidden killer nobody talks about with converters. What most people don't realize is that the force you put into fast typing is ten times worse when the desk itself is already vibrating from the converter frame. It's a physics problem, not just a cheap build problem. I watched a buddy of mine damage his monitor mount after six months because the constant shaking loosened everything up. Full desks have the weight anchored to the floor which cancels out that vibration almost completely. Converters are really just for people who stand still and read stuff, not for anyone who actually does real work at their desk.

Had a buddy who bought one of those cheap converter things for his standing desk setup. Two months in, his coffee mug actually vibrated right off the surface one morning. Spent more time cleaning up that mess than he ever saved standing.
