The cable raceways I put up took 3 hours, not the 30 minutes I planned

I thought I could just slap some adhesive cable raceways on my wall and be done in half an hour. Big mistake. The paint was too glossy and they kept falling off after 10 minutes. Ended up having to sand the spots down, use command strips instead of the sticky tape, and level each piece with a laser. Took me nearly 3 hours to finish a 6 foot span behind my desk. Has anyone else run into walls not accepting adhesive stuff?

Wait did you try wiping the wall with alcohol first before sticking anything? I feel like that's the step everyone skips and then wonders why their 3M tape won't hold. Also which brand of raceways did you get? I had the same problem with the cheap ones from Amazon that come with those tiny foam strips that have zero grip on anything but smooth plastic.

Those cheap foam strips are worthless," yeah I learned that trying to mount a towel rack with them, thing crashed down at 3am.
