That comment about my monitor being too low actually made me rethink my whole setup

Last month a guy on here said my neck was going to hate me in 10 years because my monitor was barely above desk level. I laughed it off at first (I've been sitting like that since college). But after a week of actually paying attention, I realized I was hunched forward like a shrimp. I grabbed a $30 monitor arm from Amazon and raised it about 6 inches. Now my eyes hit the top third of the screen and my shoulders actually relax. Has anyone else had one tiny adjustment totally change their posture?

Funny you mention the monitor arm because the REAL game changer for me was realizing my chair was the problem the whole time. Most people focus on screen height but if your chair doesn't let you sit upright with your knees at 90 degrees your back will still round forward. Got a cheap lumbar support cushion and suddenly my monitor height barely mattered because I was sitting straight from the hips up. Could be worth checking if your seat is actually supporting you right before you chase the perfect screen position.

Got the same lumbar cushion after years of hating my desk setup. Turns out my old chair had a mesh back that sagged just enough to let my pelvis tilt backwards. The cushion fixed that in about two seconds and my shoulders finally stopped aching at the end of the day. Also started noticing that having my feet flat on the floor made way more difference than I expected, so maybe check your footrest situation too if your knees aren't hitting that 90 degree mark.
