Rant: My buddy called my desk setup a 'cable nest' and I had to fix it
Last month my friend Jake came over and laughed at the rats nest of cables behind my monitor. He said it looked like a spider web factory exploded. I spent $18 on some velcro ties and a cable raceway from Home Depot, now everything runs clean and I can actually reach the ports without getting tangled. Anyone else get roasted by a friend and totally reworked their station?

Honestly, "spider web factory exploded" is the most accurate description of my desk that I've ever heard. Ngl, I did the same thing with some cheap ties and felt like a god after. Tbh, sometimes you need your buddy to call you out before you realize you're living in a mess.

Ha! No way. A messy desk isn't a cry for help, it's a sign of a mind that's too busy getting stuff done to worry about where the paperclips go. I keep my desk looking like a bomb went off on purpose. If my buddy called me out on it, I'd tell him to mind his own business. It's organized chaos. I know exactly where the important stuff is buried under the coffee cups and old receipts. Cleaning it all up is what actually wastes time, not living in it.
