Rant: A friend's desk setup in Denver was giving me anxiety

I visited a buddy's place over in Capitol Hill last weekend to catch a Broncos game. He was hyping up his new battlestation for weeks, saying he fixed his cable mess. When I saw it, his monitor was literally sitting on a stack of textbooks and his keyboard tray was tilted sideways. How do you even call that an upgrade?

Did he also have his PC case on the carpet or something wild like that, because that sounds like the start of a disaster story? I once knew a guy who used a pizza box as a monitor stand, thought he was a genius until the grease seeped through and ruined his screen.

Ugh that pizza box story hurts my soul. Like I get being broke and trying to make things work but greasy cardboard is just asking for trouble. The carpet thing is real too I had a friend who killed two power supplies before he figured out why they kept overheating. People don't realize how much dust and crap gets trapped under a case on carpet. Just sucks when someone thinks they're being clever and it totally backfires on them.
