My monitor arm dropped my $800 screen mid-raid, is a gas spring worth the risk over a cheap hydraulic?
I was in a ranked match in Portland last Tuesday when the whole left bracket gave out and my LG fell face-first onto my keyboard, so I replaced it with a $60 clamp style arm that doesn't move at all, but now I'm wondering if the adjustable ones are actually reliable or just a fancy way to destroy another setup, has anyone else had a monitor arm fail on them in the middle of something important?
Gas spring all day, the cheap hydraulic ones leak and sag after a few months. That $60 clamp arm is fine if you never touch it, but the second you want to adjust anything you're playing Russian roulette with your screen.
Lost a 27 inch the same way during a rocket league tourney, still have trust issues.
