My desk lamp was giving me headaches for 6 months before I figured out why
I kept getting these dull headaches after 2 hours of gaming or editing. Turns out my $40 LED lamp was flickering at 60Hz, way below what most people can see. I swapped it for a 120Hz flicker-free one from the electronics store on Elm Street and the headaches stopped in 3 days. Has anyone else had their battlestation lighting mess with them like this?

My buddy Marcus actually had the same problem with a $20 strip light he got from Amazon. He figured it out when he filmed his face for a Zoom call and the video looked like a strobe light show. Threw that thing in the trash and grabbed a basic $15 incandescent desk lamp from the grocery store, no problems since.

My buddy wasted $30 on two different "flicker free" strips before giving up. The grocery store lamp for $12 worked perfect from day one. Sometimes simple stuff just wins.

Sympathize hard with this. Had the exact same thing with my ring light - thought I was just getting old or something. Turned out the stupid thing was flickering so bad my phone camera could catch it. Swapped to a simple desk lamp from the hardware store, no special brand, just one that said "flicker free" on the box. Two days later, no more eye strain. That cheap LED crap should have warnings on the box.
