Hit 100 hours on my sim rig before I realized the seat was the problem
After 100 hours of dialing in FOV and pedal feel, a buddy sat down and said 'your back is at 80 degrees, not 20,' so I swapped the bucket for a junkyard car seat and suddenly my lap times dropped 2 seconds, anyone else find their biggest upgrade was comfort, not gear?

Those 2 seconds probably came from the new seat, not the old one breaking.

That brake pedal mounting angle on the junkyard seat probably changed your hip position enough to fix your trail braking, and nobody talks about that. @skyler_kim is right that the seat itself wasn't the magic, but the geometry shift is the real hidden variable here. Once your hips stop sliding and your legs stay square, all that FOV work finally lines up with your body, which is worth way more than any new wheel.
