Had to pick between a gaming chair and an office ergonomic chair last month

I was sitting 8 hours a day for work then gaming another 3-4 on top of that. Went with a Steelcase Leap v2 off Facebook Marketplace for $200. My back feels way better and the lumbar support actually adjusts. Now I'm wondering if those racing-style gaming chairs are just marketing hype. Anyone else made the switch and noticed a difference?

Man I feel this so hard. I was using a cheap gaming chair for like two years and my lower back started killing me before I finally swapped to a proper ergonomic one. It's honestly night and day how much better I feel after a long day now.

Oh man, I could've written this exact post myself! I was in the same boat sitting for work and then hopping straight into games. I grabbed a used Herman Miller Aerion from a local office supply place for like $150 and it's been a game changer for my back. Those racing-style chairs look cool in photos (like a flashy car seat) but they just aren't built for real long hours. I noticed after switching that my shoulders don't ache anymore and I'm not constantly shifting around trying to get comfortable. It's wild how much marketing can make us think something with a fancy logo is better than a chair designed for actual humans. Now I can't believe I ever doubted how important a proper lumbar curve is for my spine.
