Found my monitor arm clamp was stripping the desk after three months
Took me four hours of sanding and a $12 felt pad to fix the damage, anyone else found a better way to protect their desk surface from these clamps?

That "four hours of sanding" part hits hard. It's funny how we spend so much time fixing problems that a little forethought could have prevented entirely. Same thing with cheap cutting boards or tool handles - people just don't consider the surface underneath until it's already ruined.

Wait, do you really think sanding is the solution to problems that could've been avoided with forethought? In my experience, sometimes you just can't plan for every mistake or cheap material surprise. Getting the surface right afterward is part of the learning curve, not a failure of planning.
