Dual monitors for coding turned out to be overkill for me
I spent months reading about how you absolutely need two screens to be productive. Bought a second 24 inch monitor for $120 and set it up in my den. After three weeks I realized I was just using it to watch YouTube while I worked. Sold the extra monitor to a coworker and now I just use one big screen with better window management.

Calling dual monitors overkill is wild to me. I keep my IDE on one screen and my terminal, docs, and debugger on the other - switching tabs drives me crazy and kills my flow.
