Chose a 34 inch ultrawide over two 27s for my 44 inch desk and I regret it
Built my setup in a spare bedroom here in Boise and had to pick between one 34 inch ultrawide or a pair of 27 inch screens on a dual arm. Went ultrawide for the clean look, but after 6 months I miss having a real second screen for reference windows when I'm working in Illustrator. Splitting one panel always leaves me dragging palettes around, and window snapping on this thing is a hassle. Did anyone else go back to two screens after trying an ultrawide, or did you find a good way to make the split work?
Curious what snapping tool you're using, because the built in Windows snap on a 34 always felt clunky to me too. Have you tried PowerToys FancyZones? It lets you set up custom zones so you can park Illustrator on one side and drag palettes into a saved slot instead of fighting the default split. Also, what resolution is yours? If it's the 1080p tall version, the vertical space might be why the split feels cramped for palettes.
