Why does nobody talk about the free game bundles from your local library?
I was waiting for my hold at the library last week and overheard a kid ask the librarian about video games. She pointed him to a display with old PC game discs you can check out for free. I ended up digging through their bin and found a copy of Dragon Age Origins and Deus Ex Human Revolution just sitting there. My library has like 30 games total but they rotate them every few months when people return stuff. I grabbed a couple and they worked fine on my laptop with no scratches or anything. It's not Steam or GOG but it's literally free if you have a library card. Has anyone else found good games at their local library?

Man that's awesome you found Dragon Age Origins at the library. My local library has a tiny shelf with maybe 15 games but I snagged a copy of Borderlands 2 and Fallout New Vegas from it last year. The discs were a little dusty but they ran fine on my old desktop. It feels like nobody knows about this stuff because they just assume libraries only have books and DVDs now. I told a couple friends about it and they looked at me like I was making it up.

Actually came across an article recently that talked about how public libraries are quietly becoming the best spot for older games. Apparently a lot of them get donations of used discs from people clearing out their basements or upgrading to digital. The article mentioned some libraries even have Switch cartridges now which blew my mind. That dusty disc find is a whole mood though, half the fun is wiping off the grime and hoping it still reads. Your friends are missing out big time, libraries have evolved way past just books and old DVDs. Knew a guy who found a mint condition copy of Chrono Trigger at his library once, still jealous about that.
