Unpopular opinion: digital game sales are not really deals anymore

Back in 2018 I used to snatch up Steam sales for like $5 a pop, got the whole Borderlands series for under $20. Now every "sale" is just 20% off a $60 game from two years ago. I miss the old Humble Bundle days where you'd get 10 games for $12. Has anyone else given up on digital sales and just started hitting up Goodwill for old discs?

Quit acting like paying $12 for a stack of games was some sacred rite, it was just cheap digital junk you probably never played.

Whoa, take it easy there @coleman.jamie, it's not that deep, is it? I mean yeah, some of those bundles were 90% shovelware nobody touched, but who cares? It was like buying a mystery box of cheap pizza slices, you knew half of em were stale but the ritual was part of the fun. People get weirdly defensive about their digital clutter, but at the end of the day it's just bits on a hard drive. Let em have their nostalgia, it's not hurting anyone.

I get what you're saying about the shovelware, but honestly calling those bundles "junk" feels a bit harsh. Sure not every game was a hit, but those cheap bundles were how a lot of people discovered hidden gems they never would have touched otherwise.
