Paid $3 for a beat-up PS2 at a garage sale, now I get why people hoard them
Found one caked in dust in Akron last Saturday, cleaned it out and it fired right up on the first try. Anyone else noticing these old consoles are getting harder to find under 10 bucks, or did I just get stupid lucky?
Garage sale finds like that are getting rarer every year. People finally caught on that these things are worth something, even the beat up ones. The real trick now is finding them at estate sales where the family just wants everything gone fast. Those are the spots where you still see the $5 and $10 prices because nobody there cares about market value. Once you clean one up and swap the laser, they run forever too, so the cheap ones are usually still good for years of use.
