My all-time best bargain bin haul happened on a random Tuesday last March
I popped into a tiny retro game shop in Peoria after work, just killing time. They had a beat up cardboard box labeled 'free to good home' with 12 PS2 games nobody wanted. I grabbed Shadow of the Colossus, Burnout 3, and a copy of Rez that had a coffee ring on the manual. The shop owner said I could take the whole box for 5 bucks. I ended up selling Rez online for $40 because it's rare as heck now. Has anyone else stumbled on a crazy good free pile that paid off way more than expected?

Ngl that's a killer find with Rez, but I gotta gently push back on calling it "rare as heck." Not trying to be a downer, but Rez actually had a decent print run on PS2 in the US. It's more that it's sought after by collectors because it's a cult classic, not because there's only a few copies out there. That coffee ring probably kept the price down though, so good on you for flipping it for $40. Still, a box of PS2 games for five bucks is a solid score no matter how you slice it. Burnout 3 alone is worth that.

Killer point @anna_hill, it's wild how perception overrides reality in so many hobby markets.
