I keep seeing people pay full price for games that go free in a month

Ngl it drives me crazy when I scroll through the Bargain Bin Gamers sub and someone brags about snagging a 5 year old game for $20. Like bro that same game is gonna be free on Epic or GOG within 3 to 6 months if you just wait. I grabbed Control for free last June and I see people still dropping $15 on it. Why pay when patience gets you the same thing for zero dollars? Honestly just check IsThereAnyDeal or set a price alert and you'll save way more. Has anyone else noticed how fast older AAA titles hit $0 these days?

Oh man, you're speaking my language. I literally watched someone in a Discord chat hype up paying $25 for "Cuphead" last week and I was like buddy, that's been in Humble Bundles and on Game Pass for years. My whole steam library is basically just games I snagged for free from Epic or old bundle leftovers I never even redeemed. It's almost like a sport now to see how long I can hold out before a game drops to zero.

That reminds me of a buddy of mine who prides himself on never paying full price for anything. He waited like three years to buy "Hades" because he was convinced it would eventually show up in a bundle. Finally caved and bought it for $15, only for it to hit Game Pass two weeks later. @rose_young your sport analogy is spot on, the real endgame is just playing whatever shows up for free and calling it a win. I still haven't redeemed half the Epic codes I've hoarded, just in case I need them for a rainy day or whatever.
