Hit up a Goodwill in New Jersey and walked out empty handed
Stopped by a Goodwill in Trenton last Saturday figuring I'd find some cheap PS3 or Xbox 360 games for the collection. They had the same 5 sports titles from 2010 collecting dust on the shelf, Madden 11 and NHL 12 mostly. I asked the guy at the counter if they ever get any RPGs or shooters in and he just shrugged and said they toss anything with discs in the back. Why do these places act like video games don't exist anymore? Has anyone actually found a decent game at a thrift store this decade or is it just me wasting gas?

Yeah, check behind the counter not the shelves. Thats where the good stuff hides.

Ah man, that's rough. I feel your pain though. I had the same luck at a Savers near me until I started asking the electronics guy directly. One time he pulled out a box from under the counter and I scored a copy of Fallout 3 GOTY and Mass Effect 2 for like 4 bucks each. Maybe it's just that location but I've also had better luck hitting up smaller church-run thrift stores instead of the big chains. They seem less likely to just trash everything with a disc.
