Got tired of missing $5 deals on Facebook Marketplace so I set up a saved search with notifications and it actually works
I was missing cheap game lots by like 20 minutes every single time. Happened probably 8 times in a row, I'd see a post for a bundle at $20 and by the time I sent a message it was already gone. What finally worked was I set up saved searches on Marketplace with alerts turned on for stuff like "PS2 lot" and "game bundle" within 15 miles of me, and I check the notification the second it pops. The big thing nobody told me is to message the seller with a pickup time right away instead of just asking "is this still available" because that question gets buried. Scored a box of 12 PS2 games for $18 out in a suburb of Fort Wayne because of it, guy said I was the first of like 30 messages. My only regret is I didn't set it up sooner because I probably lost out on a hundred bucks worth of cheap games sitting around waiting. Also make sure you refresh your search terms every few weeks since people list stuff with weird spellings. Anyone else got a marketplace search setup that actually catches the good ones or am I just lucky now?
