Finally found a free copy of Deus Ex after hunting for 6 months

I spent ages chasing down $20 copies on eBay that always got sniped. Last week I snagged it for zero dollars on a local Facebook swap group, just had to drive 15 minutes to some guy's garage. Anyone else luck out on freebies that way?

Ruby makes a good point about the gas and time adding up. It's funny how we talk ourselves into thinking we're saving money when really it's a wash. I did the same thing with a used copy of Half-Life 2, drove twenty minutes each way and spent six bucks on gas, plus the disc was scratched and I had to use a bypass anyway. The library digital lending tip is a solid one, I've picked up a few older PC games that way without any hassle.

Hate to break it to you but that's not really a "free" copy if you had to drive 15 minutes and deal with Facebook swap group nonsense. Gas cost you something plus your time. Honestly I've done the same thing and ended up spending more on the trip than if I just waited for a Steam sale. Tbh the real freebie hustle is checking your local library's digital lending service, they usually have older PC games available to download.

Honestly that still sounds like more work than just grabbing it on sale.
