Told my soil mix was too heavy after my herbs kept wilting

A guy on here said I was using regular potting soil with no perlite and it was drowning the roots in my window box. Swapped to a 50/50 mix with coconut coir and my basil actually stands up straight now. Anyone else have a soil tip that fixed their plants overnight?
