Rant: The $60 self-watering planter that drowned my basil
I bought one of those fancy self-watering pots from a garden center in Austin back in May, figured it would save me during a busy week of work. The reservoir kept dumping water into the soil until the roots basically sat in a soup, and I lost three basil plants in under two weeks. Anyone else had these containers do more harm than good, or did I just get a defective style?
