Question about hitting 50 cherry tomatoes from one plant - am I the only one?

I've always heard you should prune your balcony tomato plants hard to get bigger fruit, but I let my little cherry tomato bush go wild this season. It gave me exactly 50 ripe cherry tomatoes last week from a single plant in a 5-gallon pot. Has anyone else tried the 'don't prune' method and gotten a surprising harvest count?

I got 50 and still managed to kill a cactus last week.

Wait did you actually count them out? I let mine go wild last year in a 10 gallon pot and just let the branches spill over the sides. I got way more than I expected too, like maybe 80 or 90 over a few weeks. The secret for me was not pruning at all and just making sure the soil stayed damp but not soggy. I also fed it a little fish emulsion every couple weeks once the flowers showed up. The tiny fruits were a pain to pick but totally worth it for the flavor.
