Picked cherry tomatoes over full size ones on my 4th floor balcony and I'm swimming in fruit
Last spring I had to choose between a big beefsteak plant in a 5 gallon pot or two cherry tomato plants in 3 gallon pots, and I went with the cherries because I was worried about wind on the 4th floor knocking over a heavy pot. Turned out to be the right call, I've picked about 3 pounds a week since July on a north facing balcony in Portland. Has anyone had luck with bigger tomatoes in a small windy spot or should I just stick with cherries?
