My neighbor in Austin told me to skip the saucer under my balcony pots, and my cilantro paid for it
He swore the roots would rot in standing water, so I yanked all 6 saucers off my railing planters and the runoff stained the patio and dried my basil out in 4 days. I put them back and now I just dump the extras after watering, but did anyone else get talked out of something that was actually protecting their plants?
