Just threw out $30 worth of 'self-watering' pots that drowned my basil

They held way too much moisture and turned the soil into mud, killing everything within a week. Anyone have a better setup for herbs that won't rot?

Thirty dollars for pots that just drown plants is crazy. I'd be so mad.

It's that kind of stuff that gets me, @finley_flores28. Feels like half the products out there are made to look good but fail at the actual job.
