DAE finally ditch the plastic pots after one blew off my 4th floor railing in Chicago?
Last Tuesday a gust sent my pepper plant off the balcony and onto the sidewalk, so now everything lives in fabric bags. Anyone got a trick for keeping cheap pots from tipping when the wind picks up?

Did your plant actually survive the fall or was it toast when it hit the sidewalk? That really sucks, four floors up in Chicago wind is no joke and I would have been so mad watching it go down. I had the same thing happen with a tomato plant last spring and it was a total loss. So far the fabric bags have been way better for me too since they sit lower and the wind does not catch them the same way. For the cheap pots you still have, try putting a brick or a big rock right on top of the soil so the weight keeps it planted. Also grouping them close together helps a lot, one alone tips but a tight bunch holds each other up.
