Shoutout to my neighbor who saved my sugar cookies

Last Saturday I was about to toss a whole batch of sugar cookies because they spread into one giant blob. My neighbor came over and said "your butter was too warm, stick the dough in the freezer for 20 minutes." Has anyone else had a random person fix their baking fail on the spot?

Wait, your neighbor actually came over and checked your cookies? That's wild! The "your butter was too warm" part got me because that's such a specific observation from just looking at a pan of cookies. I would have just stared at the blob and cried honestly. That freezer trick is gold though, I've done it myself after learning the hard way. It's amazing how one little detail like butter temperature can ruin everything. Your neighbor must bake a lot to catch that so fast!

Remember that time you mentioned @robinson.holly and how they noticed the butter thing right away? It got me thinking about how some people just have that eye for details in their own little world. My buddy can spot a bad mower blade from across the yard, but ask him to tell you if cookies are ruined and he'd be lost. We all have these tiny superpowers from stuff we do over and over, and it's funny how specific they get. You're right that it sounds crazy to someone who doesn't bake, but to her it was probably as obvious as a flat tire.
