My sourdough starter went from dead sludge to bubbly beast after 2 weeks of feeding twice a day
I was about to toss it into the compost bin but decided to switch from once a day to morning and evening feedings with a 1:2:2 ratio... within 4 days it doubled in size. Has anyone else seen a big change just from adjusting their feeding schedule?

Are you sure that's not just from the temperature changing or something? I went from daily to 2x a day feedings with a 1:1:1 ratio and my starter actually got slower for like a week, took way longer to peak. Ended up switching back and it was fine again after a couple days. Maybe your tap water changed or the flour bag had more or less of that good bacteria from the wheat.

Isn't it possible your starter just had a bad week and adjusting back was coincidental timing though @james92? I've messed with ratios and frequencies plenty and never saw a week long lag from going to 2x a day.
