My grandmother's pie crust proves that hands beat machines every time
I believe modern baking has lost its soul with all the shortcuts. My grandma taught me to make pie crust by hand, and it was a skill that took years to perfect. Recently, I tried using a food processor for the same recipe, and the crust came out tough and bland. That was a big fail. When I went back to her way, with just flour, butter, and cold water, the crust was flaky and delicious. That win reminded me why old methods matter. We trade quality for speed now, and it shows in our baked goods. True baking needs time and touch, not just gadgets.

Biscuits like rocks? That sounds like a full on baking crime. I can't imagine anything coming out that bad from a machine.

Your line about hands beating machines every time is classic. My food processor would argue if it could talk. I used it for biscuits once, they were like rocks. Now I mix by hand and moan about it. But the results are better, so I can't complain too much. Machines just don't get the touch needed for good baking.
