My 'easy' lemon meringue pie from last week turned into a total puddle
I followed a recipe that said to bake the filling for 15 minutes, but my oven in my apartment runs cool. The whole thing looked perfect when I took it out, but after it cooled for an hour, the filling just never set. It was a sad, yellow soup in a crust. I'm convinced some recipes just don't account for real kitchen differences. Has anyone else had a pie filling fail because of oven temp issues?

You said it looked perfect when you took it out, that's the real kicker. It feels like so many instructions assume everything works exactly the same, not just ovens. Like when a tech support guide says "just restart it" but your problem is way weirder. Makes you wonder what else we're all following blindly, right?

Yeah, that's the worst kind of baking fail lol. I keep an oven thermometer in mine because the dial is basically a lie. Next time, bake it until the filling jiggles just a little in the center, not by the clock.
