My chocolate chip cookies were flat until I used a trick from a cookbook in Portland

I started chilling the dough for a full 24 hours before baking, and they came out thick and chewy. Anyone else find a long chill time makes a huge difference?

Guess my impatient baking is why mine look like pancakes.

Did you open the oven door early to peek at them?

Learned that lesson the hard way myself. Now I just set a timer and walk away to another room. I also started using an oven thermometer because my oven runs hot, which helped a lot.
