I just wasted $45 on a 'professional' cake turntable that wobbled so much it ruined my buttercream.

Should I have just stuck with my old cheap one, or are there actually good expensive turntables that don't shake?

Ugh that wobble is the worst. I had the same thing happen with a "pro" model that shook like a washing machine off balance. The cheap ones are honestly hit or miss, but a good heavy one makes all the difference. I finally found a solid metal one with a wide base, and it doesn't budge. It's more about weight and a tight bearing than just the price tag.

Totally see that with so much stuff now. Feels like paying more just gets you a fancy label on the same shaky base. A solid build is getting rare.

Oh man, tell me about it! I had this expensive "heavy duty" stand that wobbled so bad I thought my cat was gonna knock it over just by walking by. Ended up with a beat up old one from a garage sale that weighs a ton and doesn't move an inch. You'd think paying more would mean better engineering, but it's just a lottery these days. Guess it's all just overpriced plastic and fancy marketing, huh?
