Watched The Room at a bar in Austin and it was a whole new experience

Last month I went to this dive bar in Austin that does a weekly bad movie screening. They played The Room and I thought I knew what I was in for since I'd seen it before on my laptop. But watching it with a crowd of 50 people yelling at the screen was completely different. Every time Tommy Wiseau said something weird the whole place erupted. Someone threw plastic spoons at the screen during the spoon throwing scene. I had no idea how much fun a bad movie could be when you're surrounded by other people roasting it together. Has anyone else seen a so-bad-it's-good flick in a theater or bar setting? How did it compare to watching alone?

Walked into one of those screenings thinking I was prepared, ended up laughing so hard I choked on my own popcorn and nearly fell out of my chair. The Room with a crowd is a whole different beast, like watching a trainwreck but everyone's throwing marshmallows at it. I swear the guy next to me was doing a better Tommy Wiseau impression than Tommy Wiseau himself. Guess misery really does love company, especially when it's accidentally hilarious.

That one spoon thrower probably practiced for weeks.
