Took me 8 years to realize I was watching bad movies wrong
I used to just put on a so called terrible movie and sit there getting annoyed. Roast me all you want but I was missing the point completely. Then a buddy at a watch party pulled up a spreadsheet mid movie and started rating each bad CGI monster on a scale of 1 to 10. That's when it clicked for me. I was treating it like a chore not a joke. Now I bring snacks and try to guess how many times the lead actor trips over a cable. Anyone else have that moment where you realized you had to shift your whole mindset to enjoy the trash?

Felt that hard. It took me a truly painful Sharknado marathon to finally get it. Now I just lean in and enjoy the dumpster fire.

Yesss, that spreadsheet friend is a genius. I had the exact same wakeup call watching The Room with a group who turned every awkward silence into a drinking game. Now I actively seek out the worst rated movies on streaming and grade the acting like a mock critic with my friends. One time we counted 17 dramatic slow-motion hair flips in a single scene and I almost died laughing. It turns bad movies into an interactive sport instead of a punishment.
