The Sharknado sequel is actually the better movie and I can prove it
Everyone always says the first Sharknado is the classic, but I watched both back to back last Friday and the second one has way better pacing. I looked up the IMDb trivia page and found out they shot most of Part 2 in like 11 days with a smaller crew, and you can tell they just went wild with it. The scene where they chainsaw through a shark mid-air is technically terrible but it lands because they knew exactly what they were making. Am I the only one who thinks the sequel outdoes the original?
That 11 day shoot explains everything about why Part 2 feels so loose and fun, they had no time to second guess any of the dumb stuff and just threw it all in. The chainsaw bit is a perfect example, a bigger budget would have ruined that scene because someone would have tried to make it look real. You're not alone on this, the sequel knows it's trash and leans all the way in, which is why it holds up better on a rewatch.
