The evil twin bartender in The Room was actually Greg Sestero's real friend, not a hired extra
I was reading The Disaster Artist last week and found out the guy who plays the guy who just stares at Tommy during the whole 'you're tearing me apart' scene was literally someone Greg knew from acting class, which honestly makes the stilted delivery so much funnier, has anyone else ever looked up random background actors in their favorite bad movies?
That "guy who just stares at Tommy" detail really got me. I always figured they just grabbed some random extra off the street who had no clue what he was doing. Turns out the guy actually KNEW Greg and was probably trying his best to act natural next to Tommy's chaos... which makes that blank stare way more deliberate than I ever gave him credit for. Made me rethink every random background person in all my favorite bad movies, honestly. Might have to start checking IMDb pages for even the smallest roles now.
Aw man, I gotta disagree there. A dead stare is a dead stare, no matter who the actor is or what they knew. Half the time that's just a guy trying to remember his one line, not some deep choice.
