The cashier who called Troll 2 a masterpiece changed my whole approach
I was at a 7-Eleven in Tucson around 2 AM grabbing a Slurpee when the guy at the counter saw my Troll 2 shirt. He said it's unironically genius and that the funeral dinner scene makes him cry every time. I laughed at first but now I can't watch bad movies without asking if there's something I'm missing underneath the cheese, anyone else had their taste flipped by a random stranger?
Damn, that hit different. I used to clown on bad movies hard, just laugh at how stupid they were. Then this guy at a gas station told me his whole life story about watching Troll 2 with his grandpa before he passed. Made me realize there's layers to the stuff we just write off. Now I watch those same movies and look for the weird heart in them. It's like finding out your favorite trashy song was actually about something real.
