The 3 a.m. bird call that ruined my Troll 2 movie night
Last Friday I finally got my buddies together for a Troll 2 marathon we'd planned for a month, and we made it about 40 minutes in before a mockingbird outside my window started doing this crazy loud chirp that matched the movie's terrible synth score perfectly. I swear it was like the bird was doing a call and response with the actors yelling 'They're eating her!' and we couldn't stop laughing for a solid 10 minutes. We had to pause the TV and open the window to see if it was real, and it just sat there on the fence staring at us like it was judging our movie pick. That bird basically turned our serious bad movie night into a weird improv comedy show, and honestly it made Troll 2 even better than I remembered. Has anyone else had a random outside noise or animal completely hijack a bad movie screening? What's the weirdest thing that's ever happened during your watch party?
Did the bird actually sync up with the dialog more than once, or was it just that one perfect moment? Because if it kept matching the tone of the movie the whole time, that would be a whole different level of weird. I had a stray cat walk across my roof once during a Night of the Living Dead screening, and it sounded like the zombies were stomping around upstairs. But a bird that can hit the same beat as the music is something else. Did you record any of it, or was it one of those things you just had to be there for?
