Stumbled into a thrift store in Tulsa and found a VHS copy of 'The Room' for 50 cents

I was killing time last Saturday at this dusty thrift store on Admiral Boulevard, and there it was wedged between a broken toaster and a stack of old Reader's Digests. I've heard all the Tommy Wiseau stories but never actually watched it, you know? For fifty cents I figured it was worth the gamble. Has anyone else found a legendary bad movie in the most random place like that?

Honestly, I read somewhere that Tommy Wiseau actually bought most of the leftover VHS copies himself to keep them in circulation, which is kind of hilarious if true. Tbh, finding The Room in a thrift store feels like a little piece of movie history, even if it's the worst movie ever made. Ngl, I found a beat-up copy of Plan 9 from Outer Space at a garage sale once, and it's my favorite weird possession now. Those bad movies have a real charm to them, like they were made by people who just didn't care how it turned out. For fifty cents, you basically got a cultural artifact that will never be made again. Way better than another dusty Reader's Digest, for sure.
